The dorms here at St Olaf are actually really nice, albeit a bit old. The 3rd and 4th floors of Melby Hall are the only technically "quiet" floors, but the entire hall has a reputation as a "quiet dorm" so its often easier to get harder-to-come-by rooms, like a triple, here! The only downside is a relative lack of social life and activity in the dorm. We also do have free washing and drying machines (and plenty of them).
A look into a typical sophomore style dorm. Here is a look at my friends' quad. There are four of them two per room, who share a bathroom. They each have their own beds, desk, drawers, wardrobes, and shelves. There are three separate sophomore dorm buildings because all residential students need to live on campus their sophomore year. To find a roommate/quadmates, many students went through their friend groups or combined with mutual friends. Freshman year, many people find roommates through a Facebook group monitored by admissions. People make connections from there and meet their roommates. Others go random and end up finding their best friends.
At this point you might have seen Alex in a couple of videos, see what she has to say about her experience in Skidmore as a transfer student. Alex is also an international student, and gave the Dana science center tour!
CSS has some renovated dorm rooms for students that allows for greater use of space and better looking room designs than the older dorms.
Meet your tour guide Alicia, hear a little about her background and get ready to get to know Skidmore College.
Thank you for seeing my videos and for checking out what CSS has to offer!

The library is a great resource on campus. It is great for both residential and commuter students to meet up and do work or just hang out. There are many group study rooms and huddle spaces so students can meet up in groups. Ace's Place is also in the library which is a cafe on campus.
Mally and Mae shows their typical room.
Freshly finished after a $13 million renovation, Holland Hall is a beauty. Campus legend has it that this is also the building to meet your future significant other in! Housing our English, Social Work, History, Political Science, and many other departments, it has state of the art classrooms and a gorgeous design.

The University of Portland, located at the heart of North Portland, Oregon, is a beautiful private university that awards hundreds of students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and religious communities. There is so much this University has to offer, and I, Claire Matanguihan, am SO EXCITED to show you! Join me as I give you a tour of my beautiful (and sometimes rainy) campus!
