Hey, I'm Abby Grace Shrader, but I go by Abby Grace and I'm a freshman here at Berry College in Rome, Georgia. I just finished up my first semester of my freshman year. I am majoring in communications and I've loved it so far. Um, I love talking to people, I love doing this kind of thing. I'm originally from the Fort Payne area of northeast Alabama, so I'm not too far away from home. As for what led me to apply to Berry, honestly, it has been my dream school since I was a freshman in high school. As crazy as that sounds. One day my parents and I came to Rome, we were just spending the day over here and my first impression as a freshman in high school when I saw Berry's campus was, oh my gosh, it's Hogwarts because that's literally what I thought when I saw the Ford Complex was, I'm at Hogwarts right now and I was just amazed by how gorgeous it was. So, from that point on, Berry was like in the back of my head. I didn't really know anything about Berry, so summer before my senior year, my mom and I came for a tour of Berry and it's like both of us just knew that this was where I was meant to be because I love being involved and that's one of the big things that Berry is that there's so much you can be involved in, especially with the work study program where you have a job while you're on campus and there's so many clubs to be a part of and there's just so much to do and I just wanted it. I wanted it so bad. I wanted to be here in this place where I could grow, you know spiritually, and academically, and in every way I wanted to be. I wanted to be a Berry girl, you know, because there's just this expectation of Berry students that we're above the rest, you know, it's a prestigious private college and I wanted it. I wanted to be here, so I started applying and as for what made me ultimately choose Berry once I got accepted, was when I got chosen to be in the Leadership Fellow Scholarship Group, and that is what ultimately made me choose Berry. It's like I knew, okay, this is it, this is it, the dream is coming true and it really is. I still look around all the time and I can't believe that i'm here
