Legacy and Legends Scholarship :)
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
So today juicy information, I'm coming at you with some information about our legacy and legends scholarship here at Georgetown. So the legacy legend scholarship is one of the leading factors enemy coming to Georgetown. So basically it is a full tuition scholarship offered to residents or graduates of either scott franklin Owen or Casey County in Kentucky. So this basically means that if you graduate from these counties, those students will receive a scholarship at Georgetown equal to the full cost of tuition each year renewable. For years with a scholarship, students will still be responsible to pay fees including books, parking passes and other things of the sort and they will have to pay for their food, which is dining and then housing, which is room and board. With these additional costs you can stack on top outside scholarships or grants to cover these costs. So in Kentucky some of those examples of scholarships or outside grants would be the keys money Kentucky tuition grants, pell grant or the Cat grant. So these are unfortunately just for students within Kentucky. So if you are out of state student or not live in Kentucky you will not get these outside scholarships or grants but you can still stack on top scholarships from outside organizations of the such that can cover the costs and then no additional G. C. Scholarships or grants will be stacked on top of the Legacy and Legends scholarships because it's a free tuition. Let me tell you it is amazing because personally I told myself that I didn't want to go to college if I had to take out a loan. Now that sounds kind of bad. I'm not saying you shouldn't take out a loan but me personally I didn't want to take out a loan. They still have two Children that they are providing board and I just did not want them to feel burdened by me going to college. So this is absolutely the best opportunity that has ever been given to me. I'm telling you if you live within these counties, you need to hop on this right now because it is the best thing that will ever happen to you. Uh, as G. C. A purchased its bicentennial celebration in 2029. They really recognize the impact that several local counties had on its history as well as its not. So G. C. Just believe that it was only right to give back by offering a transformational education of the heart and the mind to the students of those counties through the legacy and Legends scholarship. It's only possible through the support of amazing loyal alumni and donors who have donated to G. C. So it is available in, awarded to incoming freshman from the fall of 2020 which is my class. So we were the first class to receive the Legacy Legend scholarship. So it is eligible for admitted students from the four counties that I mentioned earlier. They have to be an incoming first time freshmen who are residential, meaning that they live on campus in a full time student, which means that the student must be taking a minimum of 12 credit hours. So if you check both of those boxes, then you are eligible for this scholarship. The students must have either lived in one of the counties for the previous year before coming to Georgetown or they must have attended their senior year or graduated from one of the high schools within those four counties. No, so living on campus and being a residential student is one of the requirements of the scholarship unfortunately. Exceptional circumstances where student has to live off campus such as maybe the student has a dependent, then the scholarship would be reduced to be dropped down so the student would still have to pay the same amount of tuition that they would otherwise have paid in room board and be. So basically what this means is that the emissions office or the financial office or whoever does it would drop your legacy and Legends scholarship to the point where you would still be paying for room board and these. So unfortunately you won't be eligible for additional scholarships because genuinely athletics gives out scholarships as well as programs of distinction, but gcc strongly encourages you to jump on these opportunities because they truly are amazing. So students interest in athletics should definitely contact coaches of those athletic teams to see if they are a good fit and then if students are interested in the programs of distinction, you will need to apply and go through the usual emissions process for those programs which are generally either in the fall or the spring depending upon would program you're interested in personally, I am a part of the softball team, I am in the independent honors program and then I'm also in the christian scholars program as well as various different clubs and extracurricular organizations on campus. Yes, you should very much look into it because it is an amazing opportunity. Let me tell you, you will never get an opportunity like this ever again. I would rate it a million is literally, it is amazing. The amount of educated and just brilliant professors on this kid is amazing. It is the best opportunity that you're ever gonna get. So if you live within these four counties hop on it right now, please please please please, if Georgetown is not on your list of possible colleges, please put it on your list because you will never be given this opportunity again to have a free education that is worth so much more than free. I mean it is absolutely amazing and the opportunities that you will have here speechless. Like the opportunities that have been given to me just as a second semester of freshman, I don't even know what to say. Look into Georgetown because this legacy legend scholarship is one of a million.
