The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
My name is Caitlin Winters, and I'm a junior here in Georgetown College. I was born and raised in Oldham County, which, if you're not familiar with that area, it's right outside of Louisville, Kentucky. Since coming to college, my parents have moved Thio Unica, Indiana and Seattle Washington. I am a double major in communication and media studies, a zealous theater and film studies. Currently, I'm the serving is the president of the Mass Crafters, which is the first student theater group in the state of Kentucky. I am the co captain of the dance team, and I hold a couple of officer positions in my sorority. I work in the admissions office, and I work in the alumni relations office. Like I mentioned before, I'm a theater major, and I'm the president of the Mass Crafters. I've been involved in theater since I was in fifth grade, and whenever I was a sophomore in high school, I got the opportunity to come to Georgetown and watch one of the plays I actually had not considered Georgetown at all and it was not on my radar for a place where I would want to go to college. I mean, I was 15 years old, so I was not thinking about college. I just remember watching the show and being so mesmerizing, being like, Wow, I hope that someday I'm good enough where I can perform in college. I never thought that I would be where I am now the president of that program. My older sister and my cousin both went to Georgetown as well as my aunt, and I never really considered it until my senior year. I got an email from Georgetown talking about this thing they had called a future Tiger Friday. So we re branded those kind of, and now we call them the preview Days, which we have every couple weeks. So I signed up for that and I was like, Why not? I'll give it a chance of the September. I hadn't toward the schools really thought about it yet, And then I got another email that was like, Hey, if you applied by Wednesday, we'll let you know on Friday if you got accepted into Georgetown and I was like, Hey, that sounds super fun. Why not? So I was sitting in science class one day, have nothing to do, And I was like, Why not? I'll apply to Georgetown and I didn't really think much of it. So I was like, Oh, yeah, let's go, Um, so that Friday came and I was getting ready to go Thio my future Tiger Friday and I got to campus rolling up. I saw Main Street, which is a street in downtown Georgetown that has a bunch of little shops on. Like I mentioned before, I'm from Olden County and in the Grange. We have this street called Main Street as well, and it gave me a very similar to vibe to that. So just coming into the city made me feel super at home. So then I got into the future Tiger Friday, and everybody that I met was so kind and caring from the current students to the faculty, to the staff, it was just amazing. Then I also kind of noticed when I was walking around and on my tour, the community that was on Georgetown's campus, I saw the people who were giving me my tour talking to everybody that they passed and everyone just seems like they knew what they were doing. Um, I have always known that I wanted a small school because I'm type of person who I like having relationships with my professors. I have to be able to ask questions during class if I don't understand something or I'm not gonna understand it. So I got to sit in on a class, actually, and I saw that students are just asking questions in the middle of the class. They seem to know the other students really well, and everybody just seemed super comfortable. Then I was super comfortable and ended up talking and joining in the class discussions, and I was like, Wow, like I just kind of felt like I could fit in. So I just remember walking through campus with my mom and we both had chills, and my mom was like I feel like this is the place where God wants you. I was like, Okay, well, if I get accepted, then we know. I actually got accepted that day and offered a scholarship, And after that, I did not look at a single other college. In summary, I ended up choosing Georgetown because I loved the classroom environment, three campus community and just how at home, I felt, um, if that's something that you're interested in checking out, stay tuned for more videos from me and some of my classmates and peers to learn more about Georgetown and see more of what it has to offer Bye..
