Getting Involved at Thunderbird with John
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Now I'll talk about my involvement at Thunderbird, so I'm currently enrolled in uh plenty of classes, I've been sustainability classes here and there. Um, but outside of class, I am a member of the Thunderbird chapter of Impact, which is a student and professional organization focused on sustainability initiatives and impact. So I'm working with that group to currently developed a strategy for, you know, afghan refugee response and so like that brings me that community service fulfillment and that extra value that I can do things outside of class that do have an impact that do, you know, facilitate growth and learning for myself, but can really be brought to others as well. I'm also a campus ambassador that's, you know, so I get to be an outward facing face with undercover to interact with alumni recruiters, you know, prospective students, current students and you know, really explore what the culture and what the brand of Thunderbird is and that's, that's been enlightening as well because I can see truly how every individual student that Thunderbird is buying into the program, they are, you know, they're putting all their chips in this basket and investing in the culture and the community and it's not to make that sound transactional, but we are working to develop a cohesive culture, a cohesive, you know, environment of student success and learning and growth and you know, global mindset and all of that kind of development. So when I think about my work as a campus ambassador, it's, it's really that it's being a champion of the culture of Thunderbird and understanding that no matter what we do, the impact we're going to have will be brought to the global scale because of truly how connected and how integral each and every student, their culture, their country, their identity, their experience, how that all comes together and creates the fantastic place that we have that we like to call. I'm really excited to be able to do this and I look forward to, uh, to hearing from some of you are sharing more thoughts again.
