The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
I'm originally from Connecticut, a small town near Newtown, Danbury Area I. You see her pronounce, and I'm majoring in secondary education with a concentration of math inside. The College of Education and Social Services also have miners in special education, and this one's a mouthful education for cultural and linguistic diversity as well as I'm also in the honors college I'm actually sitting in front of right now. Overview of the school So you BM is located in Burlington, Vermont, aka best college town. So what's really great about you? Bm is that we're sitting at the top of the hill in Burlington. Less than a mile away is Church Street, the big downtown area, so we have that city feel just less than a mile away. We also have the mountains right all around us, so it's kind of great. We have the perfect mix of being close to a city for thio, gain all the advantages of the city offers. There's so many places downtown to get Ben and Jerry's or cream ease, which for non Vermonters, that's just Vermont's version of soft serve. And undergrad students, we have the benefit of being that perfect size in between a big school and a small school. So we have all the connections that big schools have to alumni, businesses, organizations, etcetera. I see people I know, especially within my college itself. Most of my classes are within one building or my education classes anyway, and I really like that because then I see professors I know in the hallways, and I really feels like a family. So that's one of the best parts is definitely our size is perfect. So what else about you being well? We have over 100 majors, everything from wildlife, fishery, spy oh to sociology thio, molecular genetics to chemical engineering education. We have it all, so that's really great, especially if you're coming in undecided or it's still exploring. You can try out things in so many different majors, and most likely you name it. So that's definitely an interesting path you might take. We also have over 200 clubs, and again, it's a range. We have things like Running Club, which I am an avid member off Thio Woman engineers. We have in between, like the Beekeepers Club or the Outing Club, the ski club. Those are some of our bigger clubs, so it's really awesome that there's so many ways to get involved. Last year I did try out a bunch of different ones and one fun, one that will highlight is called Feel Good, and this club makes grilled cheeses or as they call them Sammy's and they I don't know how they do it. With that donation it goes thio ending world hunger. I crumbled cheese with them, and it was a really fun experience, and I met a lot of cool people through that. If you're not much of a club person, we have our UVM program board puts on lots of events. What's really great? My favorite part is not actually the trivia, but that they sell $1 french fries and $3 maple milkshakes on those nights. Then you are to die for, so that's really great. We have, like crafts and snacks, and they'll take you laser tagging, take you rock climbing at the local rock climbing center. There's also those options to get involved and try out different things along without our residential learning communities, which is, Ah, unique part about you. Bm So we have eight learning communities ranging from the sustainability, thio, arts and creativity Thio leadership in social change. We have different communities and you choose where to live. Based on what you kind of identify with on what's really great about that is you're living with people who you share a common interest with and you're still gonna have different majors. You still will have different interests, so it's still a unique group of people. So last year I lived in the Outdoor Experience Residential Hall on. What I really liked is that we got to go on different trips. So even within classes there that I took in the outdoor experience hall, we went on trips to the local park and they took us downtown and they put on lots of different trips. Even Thio camel's hump, one of the big mountains around here. So it's really cool, and so this is just an overview of UVM. Some of the things we have to offer, but I really look forward to talking to you in my future videos, which go more into the specifics on different things such as living on campus food on campus because we all know about so important what to do around here. What the student and Vibe is like etcetera, etcetera. Thio chatting more with you all and getting to see you through this virtual journey.
