I wanted to use this next video to talk a little bit about student club involvement at Fordham, so we'll start by explaining my experience as a first year student. Of course, when you first go back to graduate school, things could be a little overwhelming. You want to get involved in everything you want to get involved in the right thing. Since my problem was in person for the bulk of my first year, I was able to go to an in person club fair. At the beginning of the first semester, many clubs will hold interviews for junior board positions, which is a great way for you to get involved. As a first year MBA students, I interviewed with a couple of different clubs and ended up securing a junior board position in the Fordham Women in Business Club. My name responsibility as the VP of outreach was to coordinate all of the speakers and set an agenda for what they'd be talking about our annual conference. My involvement as a junior board member on Fordham women in business was absolutely integral. I enjoyed sitting in a leadership role very much during my first year, and so I decided with a group of my fellow first year students that I would like to run for a student advisory council at Fordham. During my second year, my team and I were able to secure a win during the 2020 student council election, and now I currently served as the vice president events for this academic year. Chance to sit on student council of Boredom was a really unique opportunity to me because I had a much larger undergraduate student population, that Notre Dame and so I never really felt like a leadership position like this was in rich for me, Being able to have your voice heard and to represent the voice of the students is truly an amazing opportunity on one of the most gratifying things that I've done so far as a full time MBA at for them in general. Because of the co vid environment, I would say that my personal journey as the vice president of events has been a very wild ride. I will give an example of a huge success that we as a board had. Just so you have an idea of what it means to be on the student advisory council. So when we conceived our holiday event for this year, of course we knew we couldn't have an in person component. Additionally, we wanted to give back in some way. Since this year has been so difficult for so many people, as throughout all of covert, we needed to demonstrate a lot of creatively when organizing this event. Students, faculty and staff would organize into team and we would facilitate games culminating in, ah, huge competitive but fun event where the top three teams would have a contribution made to a charity of their choice in their name event waas. A smashing success we donated well over $1000 to the three selective charity is overall, I would say a theme of my student involvement is that because the program is small, you really get the chance to take on a leadership role on to chart a course that is truly your own. You can leave a mark on Fordham whether you are the president of the Finance Society, the consulting club G Tec, which is Attack and Entrepreneurship Club that was formed more recently that if you have any questions about club involvement, you can visit our website at GSB s a c dot com. We hope to see you getting involved in clubs on making your mark on the school. It's truly a gratifying experience, and I wouldn't trade it.
