Hey, everyone, today I wanna talk to you about my academic program. So the three things I want to cover today is one what the program entails to why did I choose my program? And three, what benefits the program has given me through my job search and career search. So I'm a m s a program which stands for the Masters in accounting program Eso. The program basically is essentially just the public accounting program pure accounting. So it's different than the Masters and tax program, which is more heavily involved on tax. Or of the pure accounting route, I would say for the m s A program, rather than if you've also heard of the massive attack, which is more focused on tax in the world of accounting. There's mostly classes involving accounting, auditing, and they give you some room for electives to expand your horizons, such as forensic accounting or tax courses or more technology fields eso. Reason I chose my program is that undergrad. I was also an accounting major public accounting major, so I basically kinda already rate made the decision that I wanted to do regular accounting, public accounting rather than tax. Managerial accounting, private accounting, public accounting sector. Um, when I knew about accounting, I always thought taxes more of a separate fields so that when I chose my program undergrad, I wanted to do more counting on then later auditing. I talked to my dean, and I decided that the M s a program b'more geared towards the accounting and auditing field that I would be going into. The other programs that I did have to consider were also the Masters and tax program, which is again. So if you want to choose, that program will be heavily mawr involved in tax taking more tax classes with let's emphasis on accounting journal entries, auditing test, stuff like that. But in the M s, A program, they're different type of tracks you could take. So I know when discussing with Dean Lonnie, cousin, that there are a few tracks that you could take under the M s A program, so that also took me a while to figure out. Maura counting auditing and leaves a lot of room for electives to take other accounting and accounting related courses. The other tracks there's definitely a digital analytics track, so you could definitely take mawr technology courses, mawr data courses like python and analytics courses that are probably the more finance sector. I know accounting and auditing is shifting more to the technology field. I kind of wanted to stay with the base knowledge and stick with the basic program. It's kind of build your own program in a way with the M s, A program especially for me coming in through undergrad. I was able to place out of some of the basic auditing and accounting courses that are required. So by doing those at the underground Fordham those transferred over and I had a lot of elected to take over to take a lot of tax classes or different accounting classes or if I wanted to take in a finance or marketing course. Okay three, what the program has done for me in terms of my future career and job opportunities. I was given a job offer, so that part of me was taking care of. As I've been able to take an audit Data Analytics course, I've been able to take, um, some international accounting as well. I've been able to take pure accounting courses. I've been able to take derivatives accounting courses, and also I had a lot of room for elective. So I've been able to take some tax, which also gives me a little flavor into that field. I feel like the accounting courses and the information I'm learning would really help me when I go into the workforce so that I'm a little extra prepared. There's no way to be totally prepared for the workforce, but I feel like the Fordham program and the M S A program is doing the best they can to prepare me for my future job opportunities. So another great perk about the accounting programs and, uh, master's programs that are offered at Fordham Graduate School is that a lot of employers potential employers do come and look for employees. Eso this, the m s. A program's been great because you get emails all the time from CWC from big firms as in Big Four here all the time. So Big four accounting firms are always here looking for talent, and that's great in the M s, a program. They're looking for private accounting and still get emails from the C. D. C saying Amazon's looking for accountants or small radio stations looking for an account to help them through this period. So you get a lot of short term opportunities to do some really cool things, but you also confined long term opportunities in the job force as well. They do mock interviews, and they really do a lot of programs to connect and network with big employees, firms who are coming looking for Fordham students and they do help with M s accounting students who are in the program to give them hands on experience both in the school year, if they would want that or the future job opportunities. So the M s. A program has really been great for potential students to lock up job opportunities or, in my case, gain experience that will help in the work force eventually when it's time to go out there. So with that all being said, I really enjoy the M S A program. Fordham's had a great counting lineage and the M S A program the basic track for me has given me. All I want is giving me flexibility and also giving me the groundwork, the framework of accounting knowledge that hopefully will aid me in my future career. That's my program, and there are plenty other great choices here at Fordham.
