Applicant must be a United States citizen. Selection is based on SAT or ACT scores, high school GPA, class rank, and extracurricular activities.

Applicant must have a minimum grade average of 90 and a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1300 (minimum composite ACT score of 30).

Selection is based upon academic achievement and financial need.

Applicant must have a minimum 'B' average in accredited engineering courses and show evidence of financial need.

Applicant must be at least one-quarter Native American and be an enrolled member of a U. S. tribe that is federally recognized, or terminated, with high GPA and test scores, and be enrolled in an accredited college or university.

Applicant must be an incoming freshman or transfer student who is interested in majoring in biology, chemistry, computer science, geology, mathematics, pre-engineering, or physics.

Applicant must be a male student, majoring in engineering, chemistry, physics or mathematical sciences in undergraduate or graduate school. Financial need must be demonstrated.

Applicant must have graduated from a secondary school in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusettes, Rhode Island or Vermont or currently attend a New England college or university. Applicant must be pursing a Bachelor of Science or a graduate degree in engineering.

Applicant must be a continuing female student at Seton Hall University majoring in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics.

Applicants must be sophomore, junior, or senior science and engineering students with preference given to students participating in the Hughes Scholars program.

Applicant must be enrolling in the three-year pre-engineering program.
