Applicants must be entering full-time undergraduate juniors, seniors or graduate students who wish to become professional speakers. Selection is based on application, essay, recommendation and college transcript.

Students must be enrolled members of the Navajo nation, submit a Certificate of Indian Blood, attend a regionally-accredited school and complete a FAFSA form. Students must also complete a Navajo Government course (available online).

Applicants must be non-contracted ROTC students in the last half of their junior year. They must be in good academic standing and demonstrate loyalty and potential for military leadership.
