Applicant must be a rising student and demonstrate financial need.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, submit letter of application with supporting reasons as to financial need and artistic/academic suitability for award, and have current resume on file in Departmental Office.

Applicant must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident who is a graduate student pursuing a degree in a microelectronics-related field.

Selection is based on academic qualifications. Scholarship is awarded at the time of admission, no first time awards are made to upperclassmen.

Applicant must be accepted into an accredited program by the appropriate health therapy profession authority in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, and hearing audiology.

Applicant must be a composer from North, Central, or South America and must submit a composition. Winning composition will be premiered at the national convention, and published by C.F. Peters Corp.

Applicant must be a North Carolina resident or a full-time student at a North Carolina school. Awards are in two divisions, for ages 10 to 15 and ages 16 to 21. Audition required.

Applicant must be a member of Sigma Alpha Iota.

Applicant must be a member of Sigma Alpha Iota and be willing to study music in a program outside of the United States.
