Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in South Carolina who plans to attend a four-year institution in the fall. Essay on drinking and driving is required. Selection based upon written essays, school activities, positions of leadership, special honors and awards, community involvement, academic performance, and professional pursuits.

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is either a current law student or undergraduate student planning to attend law school. Minimum 2.8 GPA, transcript, and essay between 500 and 1,000 words required.
