Applicants must be between 18-30 years of age and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Students should be able to prove financial need, live in one of the metropolitan areas listed on the website and plan to travel abroad on an education, volunteer or service learning trip.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents residing in the U.S. whose parents are active, retired or volunteer members of U.S. armed forces, law enforcement or first responders. Students must be enrolling in an accredited institution and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an environmental-related field including chemistry, chemical engineering, biology and environmental studies. Students must include a letter of intent describing their career path along with their other application materials.

Applicants must be current or former 4-H members between the ages of 16-19 years. Students must create a one-minute video relating to their leadership in one of the 4-H pillar areas and provide the following: several short essays, photos supporting their entry and proof of 4-H involvement.

Applicants must be enrolling in an accredited post-secondary program, including community college, undergraduate and graduate programs. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and submit an essay pertaining to the given prompt.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a college or university and in good academic standing. A 3.0 minimum GPA is required. Students must submit a 2,000-word essay on the given topic.
