Applicant must either meet the SAT Reasoning (ACT) criteria or be valedictorian of graduating class.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.6 GPA and a combined SAT score of 1410 (ACT score equivalent of 32). Applicant must apply for the award and compete before a selection committee. Selection will also be based upon leadership qualities, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation.

Applicant must either meet the criteria for standardized test scores and GPA or be a National Merit finalist, or a National Achievement Scholar. Application must be submitted to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.

Applicant must be in good academic standing. Award is based on outside class achievements in high school and is awarded in one of the following areas: artistic creativity, global awareness, professional and leadership development, service to the world, or research or special projects.

Applicant must have achieved significant leadership in their local church, district, and conference youth ministries of the United Methodist Church.

Applicant must have a record or effective and enthusiastic participating in volunteer service projects and a resolve to make leadership through volunteer service a part of their future.

Applicant must come from a middle-income family. Financial need and FAFSA application are required.

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who names Hendrix as their first choice school.

Applicant must have 60 transferable student credit hours.

Applicant must be involved in high school and community organizations and have demonstrated leadership ability and potential.
