Today I am going to take you all to one of my favorite dining halls called Central, and I'm going to be eating all of my meals there today. Also just do a little what I eat in the day here at UVM, but mostly showing off the central dining hall. This'll is my roommate and I walking down to Central. I live on athletic campus, so it is about a 10 minute walk to Central. It was raining that day, so we went through the David Center. This is the really fun tunnel that they have that I really like with the changing lights. Get into the dining hall and then this was the dining hall. It was breakfast, so it was a little bit quieter, but nevertheless, this gives you a little bit of an overview. They have, for example, in the morning, a yogurt station, some pastries. What's really great is that we have four unlimited dining halls here on campus. That serve different foods every day, so you can really always find something that you want to eat. This is explanation that wasn't open for breakfast, but it usually has really good cultural foods. Then we have our simple servings and my zone, where you'll find foods that are vegan, gluten free and made without a lot of the major allergen. We usually serve ourselves the food, but because of co vid, we get it served us, too, What I had for breakfast blueberry pancakes, home fries, ham, eggs and tea. Here I had just cleaned up my plate and we put it on these conveyor belts to be clean by the dishwashers. Then a little bit later, I went to Henderson's Cafe and got a T and took my class in the Davis Center. I got an artichoke and keen while wrap with some chips, and on my way out I grabbed a vegan pumpkin chocolate chip cookie, which are my favorite. It's about like three o'clock, and I'm getting a little bit hungry, some lunch, but I'm gonna wait for dinner, so I'm just having some. What are these vegetable root chips from Trader Joe's. We have a virtual like village mentoring thing happening today. So I'm just gonna eat these and do that and then I'll be heading to dinner around, like, five or six. So here's Meghan and eye grabbing something to drink. It makes me feel like I'm in the future just to talk a little bit more about the dining halls. I think what's really great is that we have composting at all of our dining halls UPM compost, which is awesome. We're also dedicated to providing local, ecologically sound, fair and humane food. In 2018 we committed that 20% of our food and meets these qualifications by 2020 and we actually surprised that goal in 2017. So I think it's really awesome to see Ah University cares so much about where their food is coming and how they're feeding their students. This is just my roommate and I joking around a little bit as we're sitting back at our table. Here you could see more people have now joined for dinner and how the spacing is with co vid for dinner. I had this Thanksgiving inspired meal with ham, potatoes and peas and a really good salad, and my roommate had a bean burger. I've just been doing some homework for a little bit, and I'm going to eat one of the vegan pumpkin chocolate chip cookies from the dining halls. So I just wanna thank you all for seeing what I eat in a day when I go to the central dining hall and I can't wait to see you all in the next video. I also just wanted to add what a great social time the dining halls are. I truly feel like I've solidified my friendships at the dining halls, which is something that I think it's so special that you being able to do with our dining experience. I also wanted to add that we have things called Echo, where where you can take food out of the dining hall this year. Then you can have really fun picnics, which is what Meghan and I were doing in these clips. Thank you for watching, and I'll see you on the next one.
