Why I chose WPI!

And then I'm gonna talk about the ways that I went to the school, got through my journey and decided to choose the P I. Okay, so let's go. I'm doing a more informed program on I am from New Jersey and from East Rutherford, New Jersey, where the Giants Stadium is. I've grown up in New Jersey all my life, and I absolutely love it. So when I was looking for a college, I knew I wanted to stay on the East Coast. I'm also are first generation child of immigrants, and growing up in New Jersey really led me to seeing a lot of diversity and a lot of different people. So I knew when I was looking into a college, I really wanted to stay on the East Coast and have certain amount of diversity, along with being for a generation I'm also a woman, and so, as I'm going into stem, I want to make sure there was a certain amount of people with me that I could relate to. So when I was searching for colleges, I have five main criteria. I wanted there to be stem and business combined because I want to pursue engineering and management. I wanted to have a certain amount of women at the college. I want to be able to have a certain amount of diversity because I want to meet people of different thought processes. I wanted to be able to be on the East Coast and I wanted to be able to travel on. While this might seem like a lot of criteria, it did not really got down the college search. I decided to do overnight programs to visit all the colleges. So I first did overnight program at the P I with the Athena program, and so I was able to live on campus for a day and have female college students had P to shadow and follow around and show me the ways of the college, and so that was an extremely cool opportunity. I love the Athena overnight program so much that I decided to become one of the people in the program. So I decided to do hotel host one of the overnight students, and she ended up something. I was looking for to go to a smaller school, and the FBI does fit that criteria, but it's not so small that you won't be able to meet new people. Even as a junior, I'm still meeting new people all the time. For some reason, every single time I went there, I just felt this sort of like connection. Every single time I went to the campus, I enjoyed meeting all the different people and seeing all the different clubs. I really like staying active and so that having 200 plus clubs on campus and many of which seems really cool really interested me. E think one of the best things about P I is that you are able to do as much as you want to dio. So there are so much flexibility with the WP I plan that you are able to pursue any of the passions that you have with the humanities program and a P I people are allowed to pursue their passion. I myself really wanted to travel, and so I e actually did my humanities requirement abroad in Morocco and I'll be showing some really cool pictures on. So I was able to go to Morocco, meet a lot of amazing people, have now become some of my closest friends on bond live in that country fourth, three months and see all the different things that the country has to offer. I was able to take language classes and talk to them, and I did a research paper that I'm a drink incredibly proud of, and I've made such good memories and I really can't wait to go back there one day. I think Choosing a college is incredibly tough experience. In the end, I think you really have to go with what your heart and your head are telling you. I went to this college and I felt the connection instantly, and that is awesome for them. As I've visited the school, I got to know the people. I found myself really like enjoying it and seeing myself being at the college. So I think any advice I would give to people is to think about it logically. Make sure that if you want a small school, you go to a small school that if you are looking for certain programs to support your education, that you get that. If you're interested in cheese club, make sure the school has a cheese club. If you're interested in learning and helping local communities, make sure there's an outreach program at your school uh, has both of these. Don't you think I really checked off all those boxes for me? And I honestly loved the people that I've come to me through the school and the opportunities that I've been able to have. I don't think I would have gotten anything close to what I have done at this school in another college. Not to say all the colleges aren't great, but yeah, I really give me a little extra something. So in later videos, I'll definitely get into talking more about, like, the specific things about campus that I enjoy. Maybe talking about the food places that I like around will stir very important when deciding college.
