The Acrobatics & Tumbling Program
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Specifically I'm going to be talking about the acrobatics and tumbling program here at Georgetown College. This is a brand new emerging sport for young women all across the country. The sport is a combination of cheerleading, dive dance and gymnastics. So I'm going to talk about my sports background and what led me here to the acrobatics and tumbling program. So my sports background is gymnastics and I competed all the way up until level eight when I was a senior, I competed lovely twice and by the time I had to transition to college I was training for a level nine. So acrobatics and tumbling uses a lot of the same skills that you're staying here. So considering most people don't know what the sport is, I'm going to go into a little bit more basic detail about the sport itself with sport consistent five main things, it has a compulsory event, acro event, pyramid event, toss event and a tumbling event. The compulsory event, everybody competes the same exact skills in the acro event. These are like stunts, if you know anything about true leading here is an example of an acro that you would compete. The pyramid event requires you to balance three people high and to successfully execute a hard difficulty. The toss event consists of four athletes throwing a teammate into the air where she performs a foot, the tumbling pass has a duo, a trio and a quad, and then it has three individual other tumbling passes at the end of the meat. Both teams compete a team event which is set to music and is super fast paced. The main reason that I love acrobatics and tumbling is less. We continue to do what I love in college and it also helps support my education here at Georgetown College. If you find yourself interested or talented in any of these things, you should definitely reach out to my head coach whether you have a lot of experience or not, we are definitely interested in building a bigger team. I know a lot of people worry about balancing school and sports when coming into college and that would be a senior for this upcoming season. I can tell you that is definitely doable and I have been very successful Before the pandemic kind of messed everything up. I was taking 18 hours, we're practicing almost every night and I also had two jobs and I was able to balance that all out and I was able to actually get a four point of that semester, so it is definitely possible. So if you find yourself interested in acrobatics and tumbling please reach out to my coach to be the athletics website or we do have an instagram, which I will tag here. If I had to redo my colleges isn't all over again, I would still choose this path.
