Hi, my name is Grace Eagle now and I'm a senior from Oldham County Kentucky. I have a major in biology and two minors, one in chemistry and one in psychology and I'm a part of the science honors program. The science honors program is one of the programs of distinction here at Georgetown College. The programs of distinction are just specific and advanced groups that helps students excel. I was initially attracted to the Science Honors Program because of the rewards and financial health that it was going to give me throughout my time here at Georgetown. Along with a yearly scholarship, I also received a $4,000 stipend to go to research between my junior and senior year. While these perks are amazing, there are some requirements that are needed to remain in the science honors program. You have to take specific courses that are directed at analyzing data, thinking like a scientist reading scientific articles and overall just becoming a more well rounded students so that you are prepared for the research that you do between your junior and senior year. In addition to those courses, there are a few classes that you have to take senior year that you will use to present your data and write a thesis on the research that you did between your junior and senior. I am so thankful for this opportunity and all the help and guidance that my mentors and professors have given.
