Because I'm from the other side of the country. I wasn't really able to bring a lot with me to decorate my room. I still want to do to make it feel like a home away from home. So I brought this tapestry and a painting that a friend made me and all these little bits of paper, including photos, so I could decorate my room and make it mine without bringing a whole bunch of stuff to college. One tip I have for every college student is to get yourself a really nice lamp for your dorm. The room's usually don't come equipped with them, and the warm light can really make a room feel more like home. My favorite thing about the lamp I bought is it's got charging ports here so I can have power right next to my bed, and they've got some extra shelves underneath for storage.
