The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
I am an M B. A student from the class of 2022 here at Vanderbilt, over in Graduate School of Management. I basically come from India and a city called and the Bad in the western state of India Godhra, Just to give you like a background on myself. I did my bachelor's in my chemistry in my hometown and I'm the butt and very early on thought that I was going to be in research, do some cancer research and decided to force you my master's in biochemistry as well. When I actually got to the research part of it, I realized that I was just going to be working in a lab 24 7 all throughout the day, all the time alone, all by myself. I was like, I'm the kind of person who thrives in even moments. So maybe a solitary workspace eight hours a day in a little lab is not my thing. My cardio is completely after getting done with my masters. I started applying to a bunch of jobs, came across the school startup that was doing digital marketing and content marketing and thought, Well, this seems fun. Enroll into it, worked there for a couple of yours, learned a lot of stuff in marketing, finances some HR and got into a bunch of different business functions in a typical startup environment, soaking all of the knowledge that you can and after that, one of the startup boom cities, when to a different marketing start up and realize that you know what you like the finance aspect of the business. I enjoy marketing, but I don't see myself doing it long term. Maybe this is the time to make a change. So I decided for a better option than doing business school. So when looking for a bunch of business schools had really good conversations at Vanderbilt, I knew that the finance program here was really strong, had some family members who were in private wealth and in banking in general, that industry so really found that fascinating, and I realized that maybe this is my colleague attended a bunch of pre mbl networking events. I realized that, yes, investment banking, that is what I'm going to do. When I was looking at business schools, I think for me it was important to have a small business school where I could actually get to know people getting all faculty, my stuff and everyone because I came from a startup environment where the maximum I was used to working that was like 15 people, and those 15 people would be like the entire company. So I wanted I wanted that level of personal skills and benefit. Has Costner scale all over it? It has a huge emphasis. Unfortunate, scarce and like, you know, maybe this is my third. I had really good conversations at Vanderbilt, and the day I got my acceptance letter, I was like, This is the school I want to go to. I don't even want to wait for any other schools to respond back on my applications. Since then I have at business school, explored so many opportunities. Um, very early on, I took up some students leadership roles, and I think that's the beautiful thing about Vanderbilt that you, as a student, define how you are going to try it in your business school environment. The school itself has so many resources for you, and everything is at your disposal. In my first year, I've been able to attend like a bunch of case competitions with people from all over my class. The second years of NBA, I have attended a bunch of networking events. I have had access to resources along my all over the country, and it's just been such a good shift, being able to have those networking opportunities and having so many resources like I don't think a small business school can probably encompass so many sources. That's what makes it so special that along with having such a great for your community, you also have access to so many things that can definitely help you move your professional career trajectory and make those transitions without feeling that you are incompetent in. This is one of the team rooms that we have in the school. You have access to the study rooms all across the library, and if you have group meetings. You can just have a bunch of chairs around your and meet with your team. Maybe in the next video, I'll take you on some other place on campus.
