How Do You Scale Social Ventures? Ask Rice Business Professor Diana Jue-Rajasingh

Diana Jue-Rajasingh is an assistant professor of strategic management at Rice Business, where she studies how firms can ā€œdo good betterā€ by turning promising ideas into scalable impact. Her research and teaching have earned her national recognition on Poets&Quants’ 2026 list of Best 40-Under-40 MBA Professors. Jue-Rajasingh focuses on social ventures and the challenges that come with bringing new innovations to market, especially in emerging economies. Products like solar lanterns, water purification tablets and bicycle-powered chargers may solve real problems, but getting people to understand, trust, access and adopt them is often much harder than developing the technology itself. That’s why Jue-Rajasingh focuses on market building — how organizations create the awareness, shared understanding and ecosystem support needed for new ideas to grow and scale.
