Hey guys, my name is Katie. I'm one of the P. G. Y4's integrated CT surgery residents. And I'm gonna take you guys around and show you all the various spots here at the hospital that we hang out throughout the day. So this is our resident room and this is a place where many of us come to hang out in the mornings to preround on patients. That's where we come after in between cases. It's a really great place to kind of all hang out and get some camaraderie. There's many times when I've been sitting in here and I've gone over cath films or echoes for my case for the next day with some of our senior residents. So it's a really great place to hang out and have some camaraderie. So this is the residency room. It is awesome. A lot of our senior trainees have their own desk but the more junior folks will share and you'll get to hang out in here if you come to this program. So it takes a village for our cardiac surgery team and we have a wonderful program administrator who helps us with all of our day to day stuff. This is where she sits. This is Karen say hi Karen, we love her. She's our residency mom and nothing would be possible without her. I love you guys too. Hey everyone. My name is Nate. I'm a third year residents here in Michigan just taking you guys through the ORs We have four dedicated cardiac and two thoracic that alternate. Then in the new building which is under construction will have additional thoracic ORs. Okay guys so this is our CVICU It has two floors. The first floor is the CVC4. which has 24 beds. And then upstairs has eight beds. So tons of capacity for our really high operative volume. This is where all of our patients go post op for the most part on cardiac and thoracic most of them go to the floor. But I'll show you guys that too. This is our amazing ICU team and on 4C we have two great teams of APPs that help us take care of all of our patients. Um One are the thoracic APPs. And then the others are the cardiac APPs. Here is where our thoracic surgery APPs hang out. Hey guys, thanks for everything you do. We love you. Here are our cardiac surgery PAs. Hello. Thanks guys. So this is the cardiovascular center atrium. This is in the same building as all of our ORs, as our resident room, and this is a really wonderful place to come and grab a coffee. There's a little cafe down here um or to do research meetings or even just kind of just chill and hang out in between cases and here's our cafe down here in the CVC. There's a larger cafeteria in the main hospital. This is the main entrance to the CVC. This is where we'll come in in the morning, this is the same floor as all of our clinics and of course a statue of Bo Schembechler because this is the University of Michigan after all and this kind of balcony behind me overlooks our atrium and then this is where we do clinic and Dr. Fukuhara, our program director, is actually in clinic right now. Say hi Dr. Fukuhara. Hi. Here is one of our dedicated call rooms. Um so as you see there's a bed here next to you, there is a computer and a phone so you can kind of come in here to do some late night chart reviewing or writing notes or whatever else you may do. It's just a nice private and personal space to do that. And then right across the hall is a bathroom so everything's kind of contained in nice close area so that you can try to get as much rest as possible when you're on call overnight. And that concludes our virtual tour. So thanks so much for watching and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us, feel free to reach out to our administrator. Karen Bowring, whose contact information can be found on the website, and follow us on Twitter. Thanks and hopefully I'll meet you guys in the application cycle
