So today I'm gonna talk to you about something that's really important, and that is your whole future. The nice thing is, Bloomsburg helps you every single step of the way to get you out the door of Bloomsburg University and into businesses working and doing what you are gonna love the rest of your life after graduation. From the very beginning you can come in, declare by the major, work with your department the whole way through graduation and know exactly what you want to dio. You don't have to come and declare by the major to be successful in half these opportunities. You can come and undeclared, takes in general education classes your 1st 2 semesters and then decide I actually love this class. Then you can declare your major or add miners, figuring out exactly what you want to do specifically and you can talk to the department. You can talk the professors and begin to work with them. Then it's never too late for that type of thing. When you come into college, you don't have to have it all figured out right away. That's why our professors air there for you and they do. A really good job at it is our departments are always there 24 7 and they do a lot of work to help you talk. Thio business owners and executives thio get into their business and work for them or help you get interviews. They help you build up your resume, help you do research projects and get that few would experience in practice so that you were ready to go and you were most likely to get hired right after graduation. That is the biggest thing that Bloomberg will ever do for any student. Is the professor's put in that work inside and outside the classroom for you to be successful? And so today in this video, I actually have featured one of the professors in my department, Dr Shiloh early, and she's gonna talk a little bit about what she does for our social work students over the last couple of years, the things that she's done and helps us with our experiences and being successful right out of Bloomsburg graduation. My name is Dr Shiloh Early, CASS. And I am a social work professor, Bloomsburg University. I'm actually the field director, and I teach policy class. So I have been here Bloomsburg for about seven years. I worked in practice for almost 25 years and medical, social work, chronic illness, transplant and dialysis. I have my master's degree and my doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, and I am locally born and raised from this area. So I have a lot of family here, and it's nice to see students. I'm from the local region and also from outside the areas. Well, I'd like to talk to you a little bit about some of the service is that we provide in the social work program here at Bloomsburg University, and the really unique thing about our department is our program is that our faculty have worked for a man average of over 80 plus years in practice. So our professors are in the field there in the community's doing research, working with community organizations like the United Way, working with local mental health and drug courts. So we have, ah, great opportunities to bring students into those experiences to do research. I've done research with students every summer where they've had scholarships, they could do work studies, and so that's just a really neat extra thing that we can do in social work that gives students applied practices and experiences. That's really important, especially for social work's social work. Students looking to do a master's degree because they have opportunities to do research and civic engagement, and it really makes their resume strong and just builds upon those experiences to be professional and to be leaders in the community.
