Meal Plans at Columbia
Meal plans at Columbia are pretty similar to those at most schools. They run on a system of swipes. The plan can be very helpful because food is very expensive in NYC if you aren't on a meal plan. Columbia also offers dining dollars which can be spent at more niche cafes on campus. Flex dollars are also available and can be spent at nearby restaurants and stores such as Shake Shack and Whole Foods.
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Okay, so the meal plans at Columbia are fairly simple. You buy a plan and you get a certain amount of swipes per week. Dining dollars can be spent out some of our smaller restaurants on campus. A sushi and Bobo restaurant called Cafe East and dining dollars can be spent. Their dining dollars can also be spent at the coffee place in one of the library's, for instance. On then swipes can be used at a variety of locations. We have twenty four seven dining hall in the basement of the John Jay dorm. We also have another diamond Holland John J. And then there's Paris, which I made a video about. I've never got over my slight quota, which is nineteen flights a week, so it's fairly easy to keep with your swipes. It's easy to keep track of your meals, and the meals are pretty good. Here to Colombia was actually just voted number one in the country for college dining.
