Men's Volleyball GAME DAY!
In this video I give you a quick tour of Rachel Carson college which is another residential college. In addition, you get a preview of what game days are like at UCSC. UCSC is a D3 school part of NCAA. Although we are not a huge sporting campus, students always show up to support their fellow slugs on game days. The game takes place in the West Field House which is our second gym on campus. Though this gym is a lot smaller in comparison to the Wellness Center on the East side.
The following is an computer-generated summary of the video transcript.
Into the men's volleyball game, and we're here at Rachel Carson College, which is the next let's over from Porter. OK, so Rachel Carson College was named after Rachel Carson wrote the book Silent Springs, which it's probably her most notable work. It's pretty cool because School wanted to make sure that there was more female representation throughout the colleges, so they wanted to make sure it was called Rachel Carson College, not Carson College, like a lot of the other college is on campus, right? And so, like everyone makes it a point to call it Rachel Carson College like the whole name. Hey, so we're basically in the quad of Rachel Carson College. I'm just going to give you a quick pan on point out things as we go. They have like sandwiches there, like pretty good food. Down here we have the Rachel Carson quad down here is where they also hold orientation. So future pointer orientation and then, like there's a bunch of academic buildings and dorms further down that way and then down over here is their dining hall, which, like I mentioned before, there's ten colleges and each college has a sister college, which they pair and like share a dining hall with. So even though there's ten colleges there's on ly five dining halls on campus. Okay, so you finally Jim, I'm gonna go watch men's volleyball. It's their senior night, so it should be a little turn out, Turn out one important thing. I want to point out we're still in Rachel Carson College. This is the only Jim that we have on the west side of campus. Let's go see what's going on over.
