I wanted to do this video for a while because at this point, I feel like a transfer expert. As you could tell by the title of this videos everything that you need to know about transferring colleges or universities and before we dive right on. If all that being said now, we can talk college If you've been following my challenge for a while, you know that one? I applied to 22 schools in high school, too. I went to a tiny private liberal arts college my first year in two months of college and really did not like it. Finally, caught myself and went back to college and all that. When you've gone through orientation almost every single year in college, it's just you don't want to do it anymore. Earlier this week, I became a gofer at the U of M. I'm super happy there, and hopefully it's my last transferred. This is the first college that I am, like, excited to show off and be proud to be a student there. Okay, I felt like there was this huge stigma toe wanting to transfer schools. I think a really big part of this is that you are supposed to love your college your first year. Why are you unhappy at a place that you chose to be at for any circumstance whatsoever? I kind of looked into my first college institution with the mind set up. This is the first bit of advice that I feel like I want to tell transfer students who are considering transferring as well. The second thing I want to tell you about transferring is that it's completely okay. I don't know why there's this big taboo around it and why it's like something that goes to the great find of post high school friends, where it's like someone so transferred schools. Yeah, so what? People transfer for all sorts of reasons. You could transfer because of financial reasons or relationships, family, or just because you want to be in a different city. You can Transfer is nothing to feel like you are stuck at an institution. I don't know why, but when I was transferring between Lister or to my community college or to this university, or I applied toe a school to an incidental in that video. Like I have applied insurance for every single semester of my college career, knock on wood. Finally, where I feel like I'm supposed to be college wise, but it's okay to transfer. You're not as good in office somebody else who loves college. It's not taboo you can transfer, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. I had a lot of friends reach out to me when I was leaving the 1st 2 institution that I was at saying, Oh, I wish I could transfer But you know, like my parents, ex mine Z or owe money. I guess if I had my parents or family member paying for my college career, it would be different if I disliked a place that somebody else was paying for. I can see why it would be hard to transfer from that situation, and that's something I didn't think about until right now. Don't run away After the first semester of college because I feel if you're not giving it your all, of course, if this is in regards to any mental or physical health issues, and that's a different story. If it's just you considering transferring, keep considering it. Give it a year and just know that it's okay to transfer as 1/3 time Trance will. Actually, I think it's a second time transfer because original institution, Second College, Third University. So as a student of the third University during my three years of college, that problem made no sense. I can just say that, Yeah, transferring is kind of a bitch because it's a lot of work you're applying to school began and again and again. College situation wise at the moment and the last three years, I didn't think this was possible because I had horrible cycle of college shit that created this YouTube channel, and I will continue to be talking about college contents in my videos. The difference is that unhappy and that's because I've been transferring and I transferred. Things about transferring that I feel we need to know is to give the place a year before transferring and then know that you can transfer and that it's not taboo when it is okay. Oh, here's another bit of advice months leading up to transferring. It's important not just to mentally stop caring about your college. Even though I was so unhappy at Western my first year, I got all A's because I was planning to transfer and I needed a really good G p a and I was slightly involved. Show the admissions office at the other school that you want Transfer at that You're a good student and that you want to be involved because that's what they want. Even in transfer students, I hope that this help let me know if you have any further questions.
