It is something that inspired my channel because I just thought this is a video that would have helped me a lot as a senior in high school. You have this as a resource during your college process. Before I get into everything that I had on my own college application, I think it's really important to address that you want admissions to be able to look at your college application and be able to summarize you as a whole in adjectives. When I was going through this process, my college counselor took out a piece of paper and a pen and ask me what are some words that I would use to describe myself as well as what others would describe me as being Then, he said, This is what we want to college admissions offices to grasp from your application. Let's not forget that not every single college or university even uses common app when you apply to their school, but the majority of them dio if they don't every single college application. We'll ask you what your extracurriculars were in high school. Like it an idea of kind of how you're going to be involved at their college campus or university. If I want a college to understand that I'm a caring person that likes to put others first, then no doubt I want to list all of my volunteer activities that I've been doing since ninth grade. It also gave me a leadership position, which looks good on a college application. I volunteered at an elementary school once a week, and this was set up through my high school. So if you go to a college prep school, at least the school that I went to, they set us up where we would volunteer once a week just to give us that experience so we could put it on to our college application. So I talked about that my college application, but you can always find volunteer at through your community, through your school, through your city. There are a lot of ways for you to get involved into volunteering to show this and kind of attributes as to who you are as a person within your college application to show a college that I am a writer. I also was the head of our creative writing club at my high school, actually created it with one of my English teachers went in the end. I realized it was really good on a college application, but I didn't do it for college. It was just something where when I started applying to college, I realized Whoa, like I had started a creative writing club and it was kind of successful, so more so on the leadership side of things. I was also editor in chief of my high school yearbook, which I loved. I was on your book for three years out of high school, and it was such an amazing experience. I was also a senior guide in high school that helped a group of freshmen kind of, you know, adjust to high school. So there was a boy and a girl senior that worked with a advisory a freshman to kind of help them adjust a high school. Ask them how high school's going if they have any questions, and it connects you to younger students in your community, which I love. Because honestly, in high school, I felt like I knew every single person that attended my semi small school and I loved feeling like people knew I waas because it made me feel less so. Those are the big activities that I would add to kind of highlight some adjectives that I hope college admissions office gets for me as a whole. I definitely had other activities on my college application as well, because I was involved with other clubs and activities. I guess I played softball from third grade to 10th grade, but not for my high school. I was dedicated for years, but in high school I wanted to focus more on art. I also wrote articles for a school newspaper, so I had that listed as well, and I think the totals and 10 activities which coming down below if this isn't correct or correct, because I forgot. So if you have more than 10 kind of local your list and see, you know, ask yourself, what are the college admissions officer is going to get away from this where I want them to kind of see me as if I say that I am involved with this versus this and kind of create a higher GS your extracurriculars because it's going to help you now. The common app also has an additional information section at the very bottom of the application. Even though I was a relatively good student, I definitely thrived on getting straight A's during some parts of my high school experience. I guess in high school, I guess had a more stable structure of my life. In years past that went up to this point of being hospitalized and missing so much school. I definitely believe that this additional information box helped me get into more colleges than I would have. Volunteering at Free Arts, a nonprofit that helps children and traumatic homes or issues that get help through art therapy. If not now, you know, it was on my own application, and maybe this will just help. Have you guys seen that movie?
