My name is Ashlyn, Greg it and I'm a junior here in Washington State University. I'm in accounting and marketing major in the honors college, and I'm from Maple Valley, Washington, which is all the way on the other side of Washington State. I'm so excited to be here to share my college experience with you. Washington State University is one of the biggest universities in Washington, the six total campuses. The main campus is right here in Pullman, Washington, which is in the eastern side of Washington state. Oh, here we offer almost 100 different majors and a bunch of different specializations for those majors. My favorite thing about Washington State University is the location. We are the epitome of a small college town, and that's one of my favorite things, because it really brings out the camaraderie in the students and in the school here. A lot of people ask me, Why ws you why the wheat fields? Why did I choose to come here? So going through my senior year of high school, I applied to six different universities, all in Washington, and I really didn't know what I wanted. I applied to public literally the broadest range of schools you could think of. W s used it out to me because I had a sister who went here and I kind of got to come visit. I got to experience what a football game here was like and kind of the camaraderie and how everyone just authentically love to be here. My best piece of advice for incoming freshmen is find a school that really suits you. I knew that when I was going to college, I wanted to get involved. I wanted it to be more than just a place where I went to class. I definitely found places to get involved. I'm involved in a bunch of different clubs that I get to hold leadership positions in, and it really is somewhere where I can grow. Also where I can make those authentic friendships that are gonna be there for me when I need them, but are also the people that can go study with me at midnight at the library. That's my favorite part of college is just This is a time in your life when you can kind of explore the world and be who you want to be.
