I want this. No nose. It's like everywhere. Like no way. Yeah, my friend Liz, she's really cool. Follow her on Instagram. You're sure? Yeah. So there's a lot of stereotypes. Are Hopkins assuring your love them? One of the biggest ones, Higgins is really cut through. What is your opinion? It was a lie. Hi. Anyone out, out to get me? Maybe because I'm not a threat, But also what is so nicely? Everyone that I met is so helpful. I need help. Like I literally ask the smartest kid in class and no help me. Nobody, I mean or, like intimidating. So I really enjoyed that cock it. I don't understand why that's why they say that. I don't know whose that visible class time. Where is he? No. Do you feel like the pressure to study all the time? When you see everyone, I'll study and you feel like you just said? I'm I think so. I don't think like when I see people studying. I want to study, but it definitely is motivating. Like when I I don't want to study him like a like I'll go study because I can't. But also, it's like up to me. I I don't study just because everyone I don't want to do it then I don't and I don't have to because this fine in the week like wear, I don't work out again. Publish it. You have a social life. You have Just get this good. It's like really F Brody. So do you like your experience so far? Like, would you rather Did you regret your decision? Like two percent. Because to us. No. Please. Looks better. You know what your video? C level you. Joe. I do not regret. A school like this. Like, Okay, so I was intimidated at first, and I was like, I don't want to, Really. Now that I don't get scared too, but I don't. All because a school of this quality has so many resource is you're getting quality professors. Quality people talk, ask like everyone is motivated, intelligent, helpful, like everybody knows the struggle. And so coming. I know. Somewhere like I know I will be set future. I know I have amazing connections. I know Manami amazing people that I've known for the rest of my life, no matter how difficult. Whatever it is that way, get I know alone. Yeah, I'm not just gonna forget about me at a school like this because they want your students to succeed. So, Abel armies, quality teachers. All right, everyone. We love it, Love. Thanks, Luce. So it's a Friday night and we are hanging out in Fells Point today. And fellas, Point is just one of the locations closer to the harbor that people like to go down, too, and in our harbors, one other popular ones. But I person like Fella's Point just cause as better food. And there's like a movie theater and some nice kids shops and stuff. And so we're actually here to see the Avengers and gay movie. But we're gonna get food beforehand and let's go. Here's one of the wonderful residents of Fells Point. We love her now at the bloom in Cafe, and the food is really good, and we have finally reached a theater. And it's near the Hopkins Business School on the left over there. And we are super excited to watch endgame. I bet it's going to be good. so to talk on my daily schedule. So on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, I have buy materials and nine a. M. Organic chemistry at ten. And then I have about a one hour lunch break, which I purposely like plain reschedule out. So I don't have that. Then I have differential equations a twelve and then on Mondays and Wednesdays I have expository writing class from one thirty to forty five and that on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That same block is my computational protein structure. Prediction in design class. Then I go to the lab, my research shop for about an hour, four times a week. Yeah, that's my schedule on Mondays. I'm in this thing called Pilot for organic chemistry, and it's like a tutoring such a problem session problem, set session type of thing. And I think it's really helpful. A lot of classes have pilots, so a lot of student take advantage of that because, like, it really helps you, like, review the material and, like, really stay on track with that of your doing on DH, Then I haven't time to bounce on my extracurriculars. I'm part of Trump's City Science League, which I don't know if you guys are from the Wright Science Olympiad. But I was really involved with that in high school. So now at Hopkins, I'm part of Sofia's cell and I'm one of the board members. I'm the publicity head. And so the goal of chances sounds like it's basically promote like stem interest in my middle schoolers and now also high schoolers. But we basically teach them a lot of Science Olympiad events and have them. I participate in the regional and potentially state tournament. I love doing that and then and part of my medical engineering society. I'm one of the oppression representatives on the board, and we plan like a lot of events for that. They need be Emmy Department mainly for like the students to get to know each other, to get to know faculty and to really like network and just explore the department and really, like, get another major s Oh, yeah, those are my main to involvement. I don't spend too much time in the library by doing a lot of time studying. Uh, I liketo go to Mount Vernon to study a lot like I did. I can't tour of the bunch up earlier. But I love studying there because for me, if I study of people, I know I end up socializing. And so that's why I go to Brody a lot. The library. I will end up talking to my friends the entire time and not getting anything done. So really, it's just about finding, like, what's the right space for you to study in and on campus? There's just so many locations you can go and even like locations near campus. So you always find, like your place, that you can get stuff done to be productive and, yeah, so you always have people with you, too. So it's you never really feel alone, but like it's like you all are really committed to the grind, so Walking the line dance. It's Friday night. It's kind of cold outside, but then we're gonna watch King of the Seas. It's a show formed by the Baltimore stage. I think it's at center stage and it should be fun. So about like this Chinese family in Chinatown or whatever, but I don't really know of us if you could yeah. Three. There was a time. No. So. When contacted for dinner's ready. Go. No. What? Oh. No way. Our sub guys. It's currently two thirty amount. I'm heading back to my dorm. It's been a while Friday night, but it's all good because I had fun. I'm probably gonna crash for a while, but on my way back Good night, guys. You beast. Man, it's just way too. Wait. Rush on, so could sew sew that isthe son. Hey, Marty. Visiting my friend. Deal. She lives there. Thiss Right here is the freshman blood where most of the freshman level cap is way. Am I which is basically the same set of us anymore too. Tommy. Soon. No. No. Joe. This courtyard is where a lot of freshmen over the weather's nice. There's a lot of picnic tables. People can eat your tio tio, and then all the residential halls are divided between different houses. So you basically get place in your house with the residential device scans to go into a residence hall. It's There's a mail room in the residential office. Oh, Milton was pretty reliable and we can both send and receive mail at this. Mail rooms was pretty convenient. Five. Leave Teo Smoke. This's a bluesy lounge where a lot of my friends and I like to do with the other years was a pretty nice place with a lot of lights. The couch is pretty comfortable. Also assist hangout do more temples, lives, and then we also princess station for one of you puts anything out. We also have a self serve vending machine where basically combined whatever you want and then just scattered is automated cashier over there. And then going downstairs, you'll see a lot of more of the amenities that March has only ever laundry room there. And then, basically it's three dollars a load for both washing and drying them. It's it's okay, so bathroom's, a name or two, are divided between male, female and general mutual. They all come with stalls and showers so he can use whichever. And then this is the kitchen is a refrigerator. Open oven here. Good. Bring me with you. Huh? No. Thank you. Five Now Tio Tio Smokin Oh, can I give a tour of a more too? Yeah, but welcome to Gil's room. Um, she has a lot of pictures. Is your side of the room? Look at this. Well, no. Am I the best one? Because it's social out. It's It's like socialist hoppenot. It's close to like everything on campus, like right in the middle. So you want to like climate for five minutes, going uphill every time That's true. Anything else you like? Baltimore too. Do you like the study room's became the study. All right, Social lounge. Hm. Pingpong ball. Yeah. Do use a kitchen at all? No, I can't. Well, as a space too big or too small or just right? I was just writing. That's really cozies. But then we have one of the smallest rooms because it's like the corner room, Like when you come up. This is the first room. So this is, like, smaller than the other. But like, we're rearranging furniture, too. And it's like, how's the sound proof? It's terrible. Like it. Just like walk through the halls. You could, like, hear just people talking. What's your favorite part of living here? It's my favorite part of living here. I know just how close everyone are like, all my friends are e just goto like you with, like, the whole, uh, floor is connected. So you want to, like, walk out the door? They go cold here. Gavin Peters here? Yeah. Where to? Anything else peace out. This is Freshman Quad, and this is where a lot of the freshman residential areas are. Like all of the AM our buildings, um so the Aymara one into which are like your traditional dorm, where you have, like one roommate and a bathroom at the end of the hall that everyone shares and then am I three is sweet style, just like woman and McCoy holes with other two, uh, freshman living quarters and then freshen Quad also has thie F C, which is the main dining hall for freshmen and also some sophomores. Now we're approaching Decker Quad, which has Clark called the B M E Building as well as Mason Hall thie like undergraduate admissions building as well as Hackerman Hall, which we are approaching right now. And hacker mons pretty cool because it's like the electrical engineering building. And I've been in it sometime for some biomedical engineering society meetings. But, um, we have a divinci machine in here, and this is like when the state of the art surgical machines surgery in her group. Um, yeah, so it's really cool. I never going to use it, but I do want to, and I'm pretty sure there's like some hack to get to use it. Whyman Quad has the Shire Auditorium, which is nearly renovated as well. It's just some more academic buildings like Schaefer Hall, which we're going to tour, and a lot of people just sit out here to relax and think Frisbee and the catch and stuff, and it's one of the bigger quads. I think this also called Engineering Quad because it's also bordered by the hacker men and engineering advising office and Schaeffer. Finally, here's Kaiser Quad, which have Brody learning comment is, was Gilman Hall, which are also going to tour, and yeah, so these are all four of our Quat. So this globe things really cool? You can't control its displayed. So, for example, let's click on the Milky Way and there it is. And you could do like all sorts of different settings. You can like model earthquakes and stuff, too, and it's just super cool. So today we're at Bloomberg Hall, and this is the Physics and astronomy building, and it's one of my favorites. And as you can see, there's a huge telescope in the middle, and I'm pretty sure upstairs there's a more functional one that you can actually receive training to use. I've yet to do that, but once I do, I'll be using the telescope and the building very distinct architecturally, because, like everything else and Hopkins are very like crap. Very like brick and marble. But this entire buildings like concrete. Uh, so if you could see here, like hopped in Tuzla very liberal history with the space program, Um, I'm pretty sure Hopkins like Man's the fuse, the thing that you could see right here and they just kind of like detail a lot of this history, like within the building. So it's really cool. Just read about and look at and these air patches from like all the missions the Hopkins has been involved with in some way, I feel like people never think about physics or has drawn me when they think of Hopkins stands. Obviously, the med school is very well known, but Hopkins actually does have a lot of work in this department or in this field. And when I did my spring overnight visit after I got admitted, I actually got toe look into the Department of bed like we got a little spotlight things, and I got a look at the total Learn about the telescope that Hopkins was working on a class that gets in the ad, a camera, so that was really cool. So today, right off of sea, which is the Fresh Food Cafe, and this is the global station, and we have star fried noodles today or rice. And now we're at the route station, which has a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. Um, I had to sneak out rice from here sometimes, and these air the bagels thatyou can self toast. We have fruit and yogurt as well as a salad bar. And then we have a pizza and pasta bar, which is there every day. I like it in the pasta. Then this is a desert station duck ally. The desserts are kind of dry, and this is a self serve omelet bar, which is probably my favorite station. And we have ice cream every day to from Tau Harker Brothers, which is like a local ice cream brand. And, yeah, the flavors are pretty good. So freshman are required tto do a meal plan, and the options are the unlimited meal Plan B nineteen meal or the fourteen meal, and I have the fourteen right now. And the way it works is that as you decrease the number of Niels types again, your dining dollars increase and dining dollars can be spent at Charm R, which is Charles Street Market, the grocery store that's right below my dorm. And so anyone that lives in Woman Hall or, like McCoy tends toe do the fourteen meal plan Justcause charmers closer to us than ever, See, but a lot of people that live in the A m ours, especially M R three, have the nineteen year plan because they're like, right next to the cafe. Um, I actually tend to not use my meal, so I have so much. I use a lot more dining dollars just because meals types really only work at the fifty. So even like my fourteen meal. So it's like they don't really get used. S O sophomore have the option of switching to in on ly dining all their plan of eleven Charles comment and you live in Homewood or Bradford, the other main sophomore living quarters. They can actually go without a meal plan, but yes and extreme living in comments. And I will be doing the dining dollar plan because wait. So today we're delivering Cafe, and this is one of the nicer dining halls. It doesn't except meal swipes. But if you have a plan with dining dollars, you can spend them here. And they have a lot of nice options, like noodle bowls. Powerball's burritos. I think they also have sushi, and it's just like a nice place. They can hang out with some friends when you want something that's better than efficacy. Yeah, wait, get a Powerball today. And so it's a rice bowl with trippy salad, zucchini, carrots, broccoli, squash and olives. And I got like, a cart garlic dressing for this and Caroline over here got a burrito. Yeah, tell me about it. And it's like hold for rice and and also like avocado. It's really seven dollars. I want to say it's also like seventy eight fighting dollars, which is a pretty good deal, especially when we're like reaching the end of spring semester when everyone was sounds like a lot of dieting dollars and we gotta spend it can also be You beast. Tommy. Soon. No. No. Joe.
