The Rec Center offers so much! Inside is an indoor pool, racquet ball and more. My favorite part are the group fitness classes, such as Zumba, yoga and cycling. Monday-Thursday the rec center can be packed, so I would suggest going on Friday-Sunday if you want to be able to use more the amenities provided.

This is a very short video kinda of showing you what our school bookstore looks like. I only filmed the first floor, but the downstairs is a library-type setting where you can purchase books, and the top floor has books more for recreational purposes as well as stationary and other fun things like that. Should you chose to buy your books through the bookstore and you by them online, upstairs is where you will find the pick up center for them. THAT BEING SAID, like I said in the video, go straight to Amazon to purchase your books. They are infinitely cheaper. I have also rented from Amazon which brought a $250 book down to $27. Wait until the end of the first or second week to purchase books, though, because often times you won't even use them.

Melissa on volunteering in college

I met with Melissa at the Starbucks in the bookstore to ask her about her experience volunteering with USF. The trip we took to Puerto Rico was a partnership the CLEC and the campus rec center and it is something that proved to be so successful that they're already planning several other joint trips. Volunteering is a great way to get involved on campus and to boost your resume-especially if you volunteer with a group that is relevant to your major.

A new perspective

I wanted to show you guys the perspective of two other students so you can have a more well-rounded idea of USF. I also wanted to highlight just how well-lit campus is at night. I didn't speak about it in the video, but safety is a huge concern of mine and I can honestly say that I feel very safe on campus, even at night. There are emergency call lights that are visible at every point on campus and the lights are on every night all night.

Marcus is a member of Alpha Sigma, a popular frat on campus. He talks about why he wanted to join and how it has effected him. Greek life at USF is much more laid back than at University of Florida and Florida State University and isn't quite as involved and rigorous. Dorms
Juniper-Poplar, more commonly known as JP is a suite-style dorm that houses students of all ages. I lived here my first year on campus, but have since moved to a new complex that is for upperclassmen only. Because of this, I filmed Henry, a freshman ZAP student showing off his dorm. He walks through what it's like being new to campus and his short experience so far.

My final word of advice
Academics
I hope that these videos helped to ease any concerns you may have about choosing a college, and hopefully got you excited as well. I know this video is super long, but it was so difficult to narrow down everything I wanted to be able to say to you. You are going to learn so much, not just in academics, but in life. If you take anything from this video, it's that it is so important to spread love and kindness and happiness. You are about to do so much and make such a difference in the world, make sure it's a positive one. Good Luck! You're going to do great.

University of South Florida has a very diverse campus with over 150 schools represented. We have recently became a preeminent school. The school is so green and beautiful. What I do not like is that we are not really a college town and how expensive housing is.
